The name Chevrolet Malibu has been around for more than 30 years and eight generations have passed (this is the eighth) in redesign and reengineering. The outgoing Malibu appeared as a 2008 model year and may have been the best sedan pair since it has won a number of awards starting with the North American car of the year, Digest’s Best Buy and IIHS’s best safety choice. Therefore, when I heard that GM was redesigning the Malibu design, redesigning the entire lineup and releasing its V6 for the full 4-cylinder lineup, I was somewhat afraid for the future of one of America’s most popular sedans.
Right out of the gate, the first 2013 Chevrolet Malibu to be released was the Eco.
